lyrics
[Bill Swartz:] you're rolling..
[2016:] and to know / while too young
what it means when under thickets come / I'm tangled, it tires
[1989:] I laid in a bid to ride / with winners on the banner side
[2020:] I'm at peace / by the clock / as destroyers come, untie the dock
and so into month #2 / of combative men in sight
I tell you, I'll bear...
Out there / I might have a feel for the jugular and it's all due to war
[1989-2021] and over & over / "we'll cut him down and pin to size"
[2020:] so we play it / so hide clocks
[2013:] singing girls I know from ocean rocks
[2020-2021:] they implement plans
and potions for winning wide
far into the woods we ride
[2020-2021:] on the floor / on with the par!
with the pulpit turned towards the choir
and from the ground up
I've planned it out: pretty piles
I tell you..
[2010-2019:] I'll bear / how many 'winners' who showed it on the run from the war
[1989:] I came upon those two / [2020-2021] and constantly criticized / I'll tell you...
Out there / run over fields into jungle / and it's all due to war
[2021:] and over & over / we're "we'll call it done in big-enough signs"
[2023 & for good:] until you find your way, bye bye
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
